Each May, St. Lucia’s Jazz Festival attracts thousands of visitors from all corners of the globe, and come July the island hosts a most-colourful week-long street party – Carnival! Yes, St. Lucians love to party, and to prove it there are annual flower festivals, Christmas and New Year’s festivities, Steel Pan and Calypso Competitions, Independence and National Day celebrations, and not to be forgotten, popular Friday-night Fish Fry and Street Jump-ups in several of the island’s villages.
